To promote sustainability, Kona Brewers Festival is a zero waste event. The event is made possible thanks to the efforts of hundreds of volunteers who do everything from pour beer, oversee operations to ensure zero waste, and throw a really great party. Core to the event’s ethos is a commitment to sustainability. The festival includes live music and entertainment including the evening’s highlight, the Trash Fashion Show, where artists craft elaborate haute couture fashions made from completely recycled materials. As part of a zero waste commitment, over 90% of festival waste is diverted from landfills by converting waste into composted soil for local school gardens.
