 POSTPONED: 18th Annual Run for Hops Rescheduled to April 11th

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE KAILUA-KONA, HI – Due to the threat of inclement weather and the postponement of the Kona Brewers Festival, the 18th Annual Run for Hops 5k & 10k Fun Run—originally scheduled for Saturday, April 4th—has been rescheduled to Saturday, April 11th.

 This decision was made to ensure the safety of all athletes, volunteers, and participants.

 Updated Event Details:
* New Date: Saturday, April 11, 2026
* Start Times: 10k at 7:30 a.m. | 5k at 7:35 a.m.
* Location: In front of BMW of Hawai’i
* Registration: Limited to 600 participants. Entry fee is $40. Register at www.konabrewersfestival.com/run.html.

 Important Information for Participants:
* Automatic Transfer: All currently registered participants will be automatically transferred to the new date. Please note there are no refunds for this event.
* Early Packet Pickup: We will still hold a pickup on Friday, March 13th, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Big Island Running Company for those who cannot attend the new date or wish to collect their race shirts early.
* Future Updates: Additional information regarding packet pickup for the April 11th date will be sent via email.

 Presented by People for Active Transportation Hawaii (PATH) and BMW of Hawai’i, this event benefits PATH’s bike education programming and efforts to make Hawaii Island’s roads safer for everyone.

Join us for the 18th Annual Run for Hops Saturday, April 11, 7:30am

The day of beer tasting takes off with a running start at the “Run for the Hops” 5K / 10K family fun run/walk. Presented by People for Active Transportation Hawaii (PATH) and BMW of Hawai’i, this event benefits nonprofits working on behalf of Hawai’i Island’s youth, culture and environment. Entry fee is $40 and includes a commemorative T-shirt, award ceremony, beer tasting and nibbles following the race. Registration is limited to the first 600 participants.

PATH’s mission – PATH-People for Active Transportation Hawaii is a community-based, grassroots 501(c)(3) non-profit public access organization serving Hawaii County. Our mission is to champion and educate on safe, accessible, and active transportation opportunities in communities throughout Hawai’i Island. We believe safe, equitable transportation options promote healthy people, healthy communities, healthy land, and a healthy planet.

There will be no Race Day packet pickup or registration, you or a friend must pick up your Bib before Race Day. Packet pickup will be Friday April 10, 2026 from 9a-6p at Big Island Running Company 75-5807 Ali‘i Dr Ste C8, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740

A fun looped course featuring Old Airport Park and Maka’eo Path. Awards for overall & top 3 places in 10-year age groups. The Get Movin’ Corporate/Group Challenge: Receive a discount on registration by registering a minimum of 10 individuals (from work, church, school, family, friends, etc) as a TEAM. Post-race festivities will feature beer from Kona Brewing Company.
