Native to the Big Island of Hawaii, Chef Peter Abarcar, Jr brings the flavors of his upbringing to visitors at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. Abarcar left the Big Island for Oahu to attend culinary school and later came home to work under Chef Alan Wong, a pioneer in Hawaii Regional Cuisine. After stints at Sam Choy’s and the Club at Hokuli`a Chef Peter later joined the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel to help reopen the Resort after its multi million dollar renovation. He then took the Executive Chef position at the Hapuna Beach Prince and oversees its four restaurants and catering operations. With more than 2 decades in the industry and a native’s instinct for local produce and seafood, Abarcar’s talents and Big Island Regional Fare are ideal to satisfy Hapuna’s visitors, who want to experience a little piece of paradise, culinary and otherwise.
